To Dye Or Not Dye Your Gray Hair: What Do You Think?

I can tell you from personal experience that the problem with men dyeing their gray hair and beard is that because, in general, we have shorter hair, so the roots show quickly. If you keep your beard 1/2 long, in 2 weeks, the roots will be 50% of your beard. Same thing if you keep even just the back and sides of your hair at a short length. So there's a very short window where it actually looks good. So it ends up being the hair color equivalent of a combover that doesn't really hide a balding head.

Plus, if you have any significant body hair and it shows gray as well, it makes it more obvious that you are dyeing your head.

I've been getting my hair colored for years as it went white when I was much too young for white hair. It's done in a way that is quite subtle and I get comments on how good my hair looks (thinning as it is). In the summer I go lighter as I'm in the sun a lot and the winter it's a bit darker. The stylist is very good and even though it requires a trip to her every six weeks I don't mind.
I color my own goatee with "Just for Men" in the light brown. You have a lot of control over the outcome based on how long you leave the product on your beard. I find that it irritates my skin if used elsewhere. So, for the pubes and chest I use a product made by Cremo. It doesn't make my skin itch like Just for Men and the change is very subtle and lasts a long time. I have to do my goatee every week. There are many grooming activities that we do every day so I'm not bothered by adding this to my grooming regimen.
My belief is that you should do what makes you feel good. I'm old enough not to give two shits about what someone thinks about my cosmetology choices. I color my hair and beard because I like the way it makes me look. No one thinks I'm 57 and I take that as a compliment.

I started graying in college but that was very slow. In my forties, I started losing hair, and when I made to a gym and started using creatine the hair loss accelerated. Both of my grandfathers were bald in their 50s, so I have followed suit. I remember a few years ago seeing a muscular guy in his 20s at my gym wearing a tank top that said, "Training to be Bald".
At this point, age 69, I have nothing left on top and I keep the sides and back very short. The top gets shaved at least once a week. What hair I still have (including a trimmed beard) is now mostly grey.
I can't imagine ever using any coloring product in the past, and there's not enough now to bother!
My father had a beautiful thick head of hair, which he colored in his 40s and 50s, but let go gray stating in his mid-60s. He died at age 88 with a huge silver white mane.

I go back and forth between embracing my increasing greys or just dying it because I see a selfie I don't like. LOL.

If you want to, get a semi-permanent one that matches the main color and turns the greys into highlights. Or go for a totally fake color like blue or green if you think it's always going to look fake.

I would like to know what do you think of men who dye their gray hair and beards?
I've seen more and more men and women talking against that and even judging those who do it. Why?
Even if a consider that gray hair can look sexy, I don't mind if a guy dyes his hair, especially if it makes him look a few years younger.
What's your opinion about it? Would you dye your hair or beard t get rid of the gray?

I personally think men with gray hair and beard are incredibly sexy
