I'm sure I'm not the only one who lusted after the hunky blond on the Lawrence Welk show --- golden voice -- big man -- BIG hands. I heard a while back he was running a travel agency in Los Angeles. Anybody got the scoop on him (pics -- rumors). I always imagined he was hung well.

The last I heard he was living with his lover in Virginia and doing mostly nightclub and cabaret singing there . He has performed in the Greater Baltimore/Washington area within the last several years. I always found him to have a great voice, but his looks were a bit too feminine for me!

I had a friend that claimed he and his young (well hung and good looking) lover use to visit him in California. They met him when he use to appear with other LW artists/stars for the "Festival Of Sacred Music" each year in Birmingham. Since then, I have found out the friend lies a lot.
I always thought Tom was sexy though and enjoyed his voice.

The Baltimore Sun did a very detailed treatment of Netherton several years ago, mentioning his life partner . This was in conjunction with his performing near Washington ...in Northern Virginia. It included a current picture and he still looked hunky, but with fewer of his blond locks still in place!

I had to laugh when I saw this thread; I remember my grandmother watching LW faithfully when I would visit her; I knew all the "personalities."

BTW: Tom Netherton never did much for me.

I used to like that Hispanic Female singer, Ana Kani. I'm not sure if I spelled her name correctly.

Ana Cani (sp) was a very beatiful woman.

Joanne Castle, the pianist, was easily the most talented.

Bobby Burgess was probably the best looking guy there. (slim pickins...)

It was a fun show; not a lot of great talent, however.

Paul Johnson, a Christian "rock" record producer---

Kathie Lee accused him of having an affair with one of the male singers on The Lawrence Welk Show. Though she never named the person, he was always presumed to have been Netherton. There must be stuff on the internet.
