My husband has had several anal surgeries for hemorrhoids and cancer screenings. We really haven’t had sex in nearly 3 years. We tried tonight but nothing was happening so we gave up. He couldn’t relax enough for me to get in and I wasn’t able to get the tip in. He loves to bottom but lately he has had an issue taking me. I am a fairly good size. I’m roughly 8 inches long and girth is around 6.5 inches.

Does anyone have any suggestions for us? Do poppers relax the ass? Is there a best position to insert? Numbing spray/creams?

We are ready to go to town but need some help in how we can get it in! Thanks for your help.

As someone who has had hemorrhoids and an anal fissure... anything being inserted while flairing up is going to hurt. And I'm talking about small toys like Aneros and thinner dildos that are 4.5girth.

You are at a monstrous 6.5 girth. Even for some people who don't have any anal problems may have trouble accommodating you. I hate to be there bearer of bad news but... until he completely recovers (which could be delayed and made worse if trying to take such a super thick dick as yours) there isn't going to be much fun having anything inserted.

If he still has hemorrhoid problems I don't recommend any numbing creams. It can mask possible damage or trauma and cause further problems down the line. If he doesn't have any pain but just can't open up like before, he may need to use an anal trainer and slowly work at taking bigger plugs.

Good luck man. I hope things work out for you two.

I have similar problem, I’ve been with my wife for 19 and she still struggles taking me fully, I just let her start on top to control how much she takes until she’s loosened up then take it from their.

I would say wait for full healing and practice gently receiving small toys first and bigger toys later. Trying on toys will show if the healing is complete. Inserting the toy could re-injure an unhealed injury. So prudence and patience are required.

I don't want to discourage you, but in my case the pain is still there, even if it is less acute than before. It is improving but not 100%. Before, I took cocks as big as yours with great ease and appetite. I am now married to a man who has a medium sized penis and although it is smaller than what I have experienced in the past it hurts.

I tried to eat more fiber to avoid problems with bowel movements. I also adopted the bidet to stop using paper, which hurts this very fragile region.
I think these actions help. For the past few weeks, when my husband is at work and I am at home, I practice with training buttplugs and dildos. I would really like to be able to receive him several times a month, as before. When I'm happy with my body's natural reactions (more healing, less pain) I'll try poppers, but they're hard to find here: their sale is prohibited.

Good luck to you. :)

poppers will help, but only after he's recovered from the surgeries. until that recovery has happened you'll have to do "other things" bed-wise.
Always always always be careful with poppers. Do not attempt poppers with blood pressure medications or anything else similar. Do your research prior.
