What reasons you started going commando? Was there family influence or a friend influence that got you to go commando? Was the underwear uncomfortable and didn't fit right?

I think for me it started when I noticed a lot of my friends wore boxer shorts. Shorts back then were short (!) and the boxers would often be a bit longer and show at the leg openings of the shorts. This alone turned me on. Add to that the shorts were also worn tighter, so there was always a bulge. And not just a bulge, but a bulge that sometimes outlined the penis and balls separately. If the guy was sitting down, there was almost always a chance, if the just-right angle presented itself, of catching a glimpse up the inside of his leg, and seeing a bare ball or penis head. Which would make me chubb up a bit, enhancing my own bulge.

So I started wearing boxers, and I just loved the feeling of my bits being loose, and that just led to going commando quite often. I still love that loose feeling. I also love the exhibitionist side, especially when I'm wearing shorts.

I noticed this trend of wearing boxers with shorts that were shorter than the boxers while I was attending community college. At first, it seemed korny to me, but I noticed that the guys that showed their boxers usually had a visible dick line, often very obvious. I was intrigued and wanted to try it.

Meanwhile, I had a younger friend that wore boxers with everything, and they would hang below his gym shorts. He was always coaxing me to try boxers. Finally, I did it just to shut him up. I started freeballing a bit during high school and college. I knew a couple of people (not really close friends, but acquaintances) who didn't wear underwear then, and I guess I took that as a sign that this wasn't a terribly abnormal thing to do. I didn't go full-time until after graduating from college and living on my own. I liked the comfort and lack of laundry. Not sure why I didn't start earlier--in retrospect, I wish I had.

I did wear boxers for a while, and also remember the trend of wearing them under shorter shorts. I thought it was hot at the time (and still do). I found them to be more comfortable than briefs, but wouldn't go back to boxers after spending half of my life without wearing any underwear. I can't really imagine ever wearing underwear of any type again.
