What behaviors (if any) have you had to change as you've transitioned?

I was watching this, which got me thinking about what else there is out there like this.

I do the head nod thing (and have it done to me) but hadn't really noticed it's largely a guy thing (although on reflection I think that's the case).

Luckily, I didn't have to learn any particular behaviors. Contrarily, I was always very feminine with regards to the way my body moves, my gesticulations, and the way I speak. Fortunately, my voice never changed much, I stayed pretty petite, and overall tend to pass pretty easily despite my having foregone hormones.

Wow, was just looking at minorqback's Youtube videos and damn she was FUCKING HOT as a man!

I guess I still don't understand the whole trans thing, I mean if you are a guy and into guys why not just be gay and date dudes?

Why put yourself through hormone treatments not to mention surgery, then try to date straight men many of whom are probably going to be freaked out by the fact that you used to be a dude even if you have had bottom surgery?

I realized that I was into guys and that women were not my thing pretty much as soon as I hit puberty but the thought of transitioning to being a woman never occurred to me.

Not trying to offend just desperately trying to understand.

If you woke up tomorrow in a woman's body, would you feel like you were a straight woman? Or would you feel like you were a gay guy in a woman's body?

Good question. Not sure honestly. If I had been born as a woman my sexual attraction to men would have been much easier to deal with growing up.

Having grown up as a guy though I think suddenly waking up as a woman, or transitioning into one would be odd.

The distinction to remember is that how one identifies and who they are attracted to aren't the same thing. I have always identified as female and happen to exclusively be attracted to men, and there are plenty of other transpeople who are basically heterosexual as far as orientation goes like me; conversely, there are also plenty others who are homosexual or pansexual (or anything else on the spectrum) in that regard. I think the separation of the two concepts is what makes it easier to make sense of it all.
