When I go to the gym, it’s always during the busy hour and fill with dudes just getting off work. Many of them wear sexy shorts and tank up to show off their bodies. I couldn’t stop staring but I know it’s just rude to stare at someone.

There are times I almost want to follow them into the bathroom stall, but I stop myself because I know that’s creepy.

One time a hot dude confronted me to stop staring at his ass, and I apologized. I just couldn’t resist watching a nice ass just doing squat in front of me. Humph!

Now I learn to look down.

Where do you look though at the gym?

I don't go to a public gym. I have weights at home, but I have used them for some years. I'm desperately out of shape. However, when I took PE in school, I always look at guys in the face or just generally ahead and not around. It was a hostile place for those who were not straight.

Work on your social skills buddy. There is a difference between glimpsing, checking someone out and blatantly staring.
Most people go to the gym to workout not to hook up.
I usually lift in front of the mirror so I'll look myself straight in the eyes. You can still look at other people just don't make it weird.

Watch the sport on the television if it's in your line of vision, focus on the clock, a poster, a mirror, a spot on the ceiling.. focus on anything other than another member's body.

I'm going in a different direction. When I'm in the gym it doesn't bother me that other men stare at me while I'm doing various exercises. I could care less that they're looking at me. I'm there to better myself and if someone is staring at me more power to them.

Personally if you’re staring at my ass I’m taking it as a compliment. If you’re starting at me naked in general I don’t care. I feel we should be asking the guys who care…why they care? Personally if I look at you I’m jealous of your physique and that’s why I’m looking. Why are some guys so uptight

From your profile picture you have amazing abs. That id like to achieve one day. You should be proud.
But I’m not looking to hook up with you…why would you assume that?
I’d love to come chat with you of how I can achieve that but since I was staring at you, you automatically assume I want to hook ip with you….

I was responding to op.

There is no harm in asking others for advice, having a glimpse or just talking to someone... I do that all the time

There's a guy at my gym who wears dark sunglasses and it's super obvious what he's doing. He wanders the floor from machine to machine eyeing guys, but he's chubby and doesn't work out. It's sad and creepy. Dude, it's fine to take quick glances. But do it as you're panning the room or moving around naturally. No one is tracking your eye movements if you do that. But if you lock your eyes onto my ass, it's distracting and annoying. A massive turnoff. Plus, you're wasting time on equipment that other people could be using. You've already been called-out for being creepy, and there were probably many others that you've weirded-out that didn't reach his level of frustration. Don't be that guy.

His idea of getting exercise is following people in better shape than he's in. It sure beats the guys who just sit at a machine without using it at all with a towel draped around their neck. I bought free weights just before COVID hit, thank goodness, and exercise from home. That way, I don't have to see any irritants.

I'm 64. Pre covid there were mostly folks 50 and over in the early afternoons at my gym. As such, taking discreet glimpses of attractive members was not out of my realm. But since covid... Almost everyone there is under 35 now. Most in their mid to late 20's. Many are super hot. But, I'm 64... So I keep my eyes "on the road" so to speak. Sure I steal a look at a cute bod... But I know my place. I remember when I was that age.
