Who Remembers The Original Lpsg?

The old days were really fun. My profile actually has the “member since”
Date because there was a server update at one point and a bunch of us got deleted and had to rejoin. I think it’s only off by about a year.
I was freshly out of college when I joined and fondly remember the old boards. Who remembers the brown and ran one? There was even a group of us that had started a book club and would all read a book and then have a discussion on the old yahoo groups board.
I’ve kept in touch with a few people from the early days who aren’t on here any longer. And I am in close contact with one member who has changed his name several times but is still active.
It’s been interesting to see how this board developed!

Skipping through the most recent page of this thread brought to mind this one member, do you guys remember a user whose nick was something like Jason Dawg xxx ? If I recall correctly, he claimed to be a SoCal surfer model actor type dude. He had some CRAZY stories. Then one day poof he was banned i believe he was found to be lying about everything.

Boy, those were the days. When you'd get 20 page long threads asking why so and so was banned.

I joined in 2009 and it was vastly different then. I was always on the edge of getting banned. Everyone was. That's the problem and what absolutely ruined the vibe of this site. So many fucking rules. STUPID rules. The gossip and fighting, bantering, personal discussions, jokes etc are what made it interesting. We were treated like fucking children and told to behave and be nice and it sucked all the fun out of it. I remember how fun the forums used to be and how fun chat was. After a few years chat became a bunch of aggressive dumbasses who demanded that you show them something and the forums were so censored I felt like if I contributed I'd finally get banned. I'm not saying this site is terrible now. I wouldnt know since I stopped posting once it turned into a micromanaged place to get good porn recommendations. But yeah, we really had some fun back in the olden days

I Know I miss how the chat room used to be. So many guys on cams, very well hung ones too. Engaged in a lot of personal messaging as well as general topics. Now this new chat room is boring, dry, and just DEAD!!!

I logged in today to catch up with things, and I was told I had my gold membership revoked to increase the value to new members, by a new owner. Really sad to hear that. Folks that spent years here contributing their time, moderating, making it the best place it could be for a free site, now cast aside.

I've been here since '05. Certainly not the longest, but.... Miss a lot of the folks I used to chat with.

Hey Jumbo - I thought I did that at one time, and up until the change everything worked ok.
I'll do some searching, as I've been away for a while on verification etc, and probably good for me to do a refresher on the rules too.

Yes it was a long time ago as far as my memory is concerned.

I am knew to this thread and I haven't read any of the other posts.

When I joined there were less than way less than 10,000 members. We all did know each other then.

It was not a bit funny then to me, but now it funny! There was a split in the membership. Another site went up with lpsg in the name plus something to show it was not this lpsg. Don't remember the name.

Many people joined both sites! I was a mod then and several of us mods joined the other site. Partly to read all the posts and also to add our 2 cents worth!

I guess that other site disappeared. I had some health problems and didn't post much there for a while and missed out on how some concerns.

There are some members from back then I wish were still around. I very much miss Pecker. He closed his account here with no forwarding address. My fear is that he was terminal and did not want to say goodbye. I hope I am wrong!

I miss him deeply as well. He was completely down to earth no matter the topic - just a loving, caring person who helped structuring LPSG back then.

As I recall, perhaps dimly, for those of us who were here back then, @Pecker did declare his eminent departure, with no hard feelings. He simply wanted to retire from responsibility for this rather complicated website. I can't blame him for that!

He was a great Moderator and content provider at LPSG. For those that remember his contributions here, you probably remember his daily posts from "headlines" and links to the news lampoon website, "The Onion | America's Finest News Source."... So funny, and usually very poignant. I really miss that. He was a brilliant contributor to this website.

I will just guess that he is still watching over us occasionally, here, in his kind, observational way.
