So I'm originally from the east coast (NYC). But I've been living in California for about 10 years now. I'm uncut, which puts me in the minority as far as most Americans go. I didn't see too many dicks growing up, but I was very aware that most guys were circumcised. Even during my time in the military where I saw a lot of dick, the majority were still cut.

But in the years since I've been living in CA (and especially the Bay Area), I notice a lot more uncut guys than I ever have before. Like whether it's in the gym or even at the many nude events that are popular there. It almost looks like it's 50/50 here compared to anywhere else stateside. I looked up the states and apparently most Americans are still circumcised, although the percentage is way lower on the West Coast for some reason. I can't speak to anywhere else on the West Coast outside of the Bay Area, but I defiantly don't feel like the minority here. Has anyone else noticed this, and if so what do you think the explanation is for it?

The quick and easy answer is this. There are more immigrant families on the west coast. With a few generations of uncut guys it starts to tip the scales.

The Bay Area is where intactivism comes from, and many hospitals 80s-onwards did not do circumcisions as a general practice.... it's not even available, there's no circumcision

It's also a fairly global city, I'd say it's 25-30% uncut at the nude beaches.
just another reason to never live on the west coast

I'm not from here, but I brought my foreskin here 12 years ago.
I’ve taken my foreskin for a holiday there several times. It’s one of my favourite cities in USA. After reading this thread, another reason to love it.

It generally makes sense if you're in the UK (where pretty much everyone else has foreskin). In the states it's a bit tricky in that you feel like something of a minority. Unless you're in California apparently...
Bandwagon phallucy? ;)
