Ok, I'm old enough to remember when it wasn't the fashion for a woman to shave her pucic hair, so I've experienced both grooming practices.

Personally, although I don't mind not having to pull stray hairs from my mouth, I sort of miss the old days where women displayed a full muff between their legs. Not only did it put a visual focus point at a woman's sex, but it was also a sort of powerful statement about her womanhood--"look, I am a sexual being"--which is now minimized. Besides, it's got to be a bit of a pain to have to keep it shaved. But then again, I'm a man.

What are your thoughts about it. If it wasn't more fashionbable one way or another, would you shave your pubic hair? Trim it? Let it grow? Not care? Much ado about nothing?

I don't shave "down there" because I don't want to look like I'm eleven.

^ this is a little offensive.

I guess it's generational or something but I think it's just more hygienic and clean looking and feeling. I think it was a peer pressure thing to do at first but I like it and my bf's like it. I'm not sure what else to say about it.

I started shaving because my husband wanted to see what it was like. I was game. He found it extremely erotic. (IMO (and IMHO), we don't think ANYTHING I could do would make me look preteen or less mature.)

We both enjoy the feeling of the smoothness. I love the fact that I don't "sweat" down there and something most men may not like, but I do is the change in the odor. Though it was never really strong, it was very musky, and now it is not. I like that, and so does my husband.

No I don't do everything for my husband, but we love each other and enjoy experiementing with different things. If we find something that we both enjoy and it works, then we keep doing it. I enjoy having a smooth mound so I continue to keep it that way.

To each his/or her own.

If I'm left to my own devices, I trim with a wee bit of shaving to shape things more nicely/take a couple stray hairs away. I find it much more comfy than shaving bare, plus I prefer how it looks.

On the flip side, if someone I'm being intimate with has a preference, I don't mind switching it up some. I do find shaving everything off somewhat... unpleasant? Maybe I just suck at shaving. I would kind of like to try getting waxed sometime, to see if that's less of a pain in the vag.

I don't go full on jungle bush down there. I do some grooming both with waxing and trimming with scissors, but I still keep it pretty natural. When I was younger, I did keep it completely shaved, total pain. So I decided if a guy doesn't want to bone me cause of some pubes then his loss.
I've gone bare for my husband and he told me he prefers it with hair. He wants to feel like he's with a woman. And I totally get it. I don't like dudes to be hairless. It is very unappealing to me.

I have shaved everything to see if it was nice to touch. It was, but only for two days. I'm too prone to ingrowns, and I hate the way it looks, anyway.

I do have some advice for those who do like to shave all or part of their pubes. This is for folks like me, who are prone to ingrown hairs.

Exfoliate daily. If you already have ingrown hairs, the only cure is removal. After you've been exfiliating for a while, the hair should look like it is closer to the surface. You or your partner can gently scratch the bubble or whitehead if there is one with a sterilized pin/needle. Once the surface is broken, you should be able to gently work the point of the pin under the hair and free it from the skin in which it is wound. Once it is freed, I recommend pulling it completely out with a tweezer so it can't reenter.

But back to daily exfoliation. Just do it. It takes 35 seconds, and is dirt cheap. I used to make my own out of oil and coarse sea salt. Now I just use the same anti-acne apricot scrub I use on my face. I figure the bottle is already open, and the goop is already on my hands.

Moisturize. I do it twice a day. I do it with lotion in the morning right after I do my face. I do it with oil in the evening, while I oil my whole body after my shower or bath. They key with oil, however, is to be careful at the vulva. It must not enter the vagina. Oil in th vag is just dreadful for you pH balance. No beauty regimen, regardless of fantastic results, is worth a violent yeast infection.

I shave completely (obviously). In no way, shape, or form do I look like an 11 year old. I do like the way very neatly trimmed/shaped hair looks on some women... but not on myself. My hair is oddly patchy/sparse down there so I never get that pretty little compact patch like some women do *shrug*. Besides that... I am not partial to having ANY scent and shaving/waxing certainly helps with that. Plus, I find that it makes sex more enjoyable. I don't particularly care for the feeling of scratchy pubes rubbing each other, but very much enjoy feeling my boys hot skin on mine. Less friction/irritation/ potential for snagging (fucking ouch) and... shaving completely is just much less of a hassle than trying to shape the stuff. That's just obnoxious to me.

Certainly did not mean to offend anyone. It's just my personal opinion. I also like hair on my man.

Trimmed, of course, but at least leave some there.

Totally agree. I've been shaving for a number of years now and will probably continue. The increased sensitivity and the attention that I get from both my husband and my lover make it all worthwhile!:biggrin1:

I am old enough that i have been thru the days of full bush and into the days of waxing. I only got my first wax 8 years ago, prefering before that to just trim. But since my first Hollywood i've been hooked. Firstly because i feel more comfortable in tight trousers and pants (they always made me kinda itchy before, like i could feel the hair being pushed flat on my skin) secondly guys these days need all the goddamn help they can get down there! No bush means (slightly) better head in general. On the subject of looking prepubescent, after 37 years and a kid, there's NO mistaking my vagina for that of a young person!

I haven't shaved or trimmed in at least 7 years. My boyfriend stated he would appreciate if I trimmed before he engages in oral sex on me (not a requirement, but he'd like it if I did). For personal reasons, I haven't let him go down on me yet. I've decided to go ahead and trim for him because he's the most amazing guy ever and I think he deserves it. I refuse to shave, though. Too uncomfortable.

I trim or shave, I've waxed myself but never whipped it all out that way, heard some horror stories of ripping..

Like mentioned above I just feel fresher without a full retro bush. I did think it was an age thing where most young guys prefer the bald porn look until I was chatting to someone who likes it natural and thinks shaved is boring :biggrin1:

I shave with a Venus (appropriately named).
What's a Hollywood wax?

I'm a combo girl - trim the mound and shave the lips. I've never had a lot anyway and I just feel cleaner. Never had a problem with ingrown hairs, but I do exfoliate my entire body every time I'm in the shower.
