It seems like he changed his whole persona to change his identity. If you look at his older videos, not only does he dress like a twink, but he has a lot of other gay YouTubers on his channel as guests. Now he's turned into the long haired kind of grungy stoner looking guy that reviews junk food. He even recently gave a positive review to Chik-Fil-A. Despite mentioning that they are against gay marriage. I'm not sure if his sudden success forced him back into the closet, but he definitely acts more feminine and comfortable in his own skin in his older videos. Now he just acts like an awkward straight guy that can't get girls.

I don’t think he’s acting straight or anything I think his stuff is less scripted/rehearsed and this is just more of him being genuine. I’ve always gotten a hipster vibe from him. He’s been on YouTube for a long time it’s only normal for him to change up his looks. In college I thought I was a twink too but stopped wearing dumb preppy shit and started growing out my hair lol also he’s not shy about talking about brutal bf on his website. I also think on his tumblr he said he tried weed once and didn’t like it that much.

I wouldn´t really say he has changed, the only change I can see is in his content format and humor, which was bound to change as he grew up. But I don't really think he was overly affeminate in his earlier days nor is does he act more manly nowadays. He's still mostly the same, maybe he was/is a little affeminate but not much more than that. As for the gay youtubers as guests, I think it's mostly because he doesn't do collabs nowadays, even then the first gay guest that comes to my mind that he had is JimmyWhetzel, who doesn't even do youtube anymore
