People get weirdly attached and perhaps parasocial with performers even in studio porn. You don't "know" these people and don't have relationships with them. It's fantasy. If you enjoy their content, cool. If you don't, cool. But all the other extra stuff is unnecessary and, for whatever reason, that's what this thread likes cycling back to anytime there's a lull, lol.

I think I'd get it more if they were actively doing or fueling anything, especially if it were negative, as other performers have done in the past, but pretty much all they offer is content and the occasional comment, usually to the supporters they've connected most with. I'm actually glad they stopped mentioning that backstory ages ago because it was actually a massive ick (to me), and I hate that the chat refuses to let it completely fade away. That and the "I hope you guys get married" stuff because... yeah.

This is actually a very excellent point. An example of the dangers of these maladaptive parasocial relationships is that an individual on this forum (we will not identify them publicly but are aware of their various usernames on all platforms) is the person who has continued to dox us, harass our top supporters in an attempt to destroy our business, contact friends and family members of ours telling them “to google 2jckedbros” We understand the risks of performing in a public space - we are not naive.
However, this discourse emboldens a mentally unstable individual and will continue to do so as long as it goes on. Not looking for sympathy, just reminding everyone that we are 2 human beings beyond this venture.

At the end of the day, we are not trying to trick anyone into watching our content. We have our fair share of wonderful supporters, who do so willingly. If we aren’t the content creators for you, we are asking you to kindly move on and find performers you enjoy! There’s a ton of awesome creators out there!
