Hope in his new show as main protagonist he has a lot of shirtless/nudes!!!
It could.
Jack Reacher is basically straight alpha male savior fantasy.
If it's like the books then he's an ex-military policeman that roams from place to place helping those in need and administering "justice". It's like a modern western where the handsome and dangerous stranger is trying to just travel through a town but sees injustice and just can't turn his back on those in need but instead of High Noon shoot-out, he uses guerilla warfare tactics.
I seriously doubt they will follow the books which feature a different cast of characters every novel with usually a new love interest/female in danger and at the very least they have to change the characters age or set the series in the 80's/90's because Reacher was born in like1960 and Alan could play a man in his late 30/early '40s but unless they say he took the Super-soldier formula then I'm not buying he's in his '60s.
I think the amount of time we see him shirtless will depend on how closely they keep the book's depictions of him being scarred from bombs, knife fights, gunshots, etc. I think when they canonize a character being scared then it's much harder to randomly include shirtless scenes. They would need to justify the cost of hours in make-up and keep a detailed mapping of all the scars for continuity. I really believe that's why we got fewer and fewer shirtless scenes on Arrow as Oliver Queen got more scars to keep track of over the years. It's much easier/cheaper to just have them remain clothed or only partially exposed.
I could be totally off base though because I haven't seen anything about the show except the announcement of Alan's casting.
