Alex Sampson, singer/influencer

Lmao. His parents who live two hours away from the middle of nowhere probably voted conservative. There's no way Alex bothered to vote.
I'll bet he didn't even know there was an election. Too busy taking selfies and publicly posting compliments from strangers on snap as if they are his friends when in reality they are just cogs to beget further engagement and advance himself in this vacuous disgusting industry of being an influencer.

He's not even present. He's living a fantasy life and the entirety of his interactions with other ppl are inherently artificial because it's to the point where it's impossible to parse what is a genuine connection from an interaction to further his brand.

It must totally suck to not know who is around you because they care vs who is around you because you are paying them / they are paying you... When nearly every single relationship in your life is transactional and a means of commodity advancement, you are not living a genuine or Christian life .. no matter how many pictures you post of yourself at church or struggling to read bible verses 🫠

Touch grass, man

Touch grass, man
People who tell others to touch grass are usually the ones who need to touch grass. The fact that you were butthurt by an obviously true observation of somebody who's chosen to live a strange public fantasy life says way more about you imo... So..

So, firstly, I generally avoid telling people that’ll because I agree that it’s become a pointless cliche for the most part. But in this case it really was deserved.

No, nothing about what he said was “obviously true” nor is Alex choosing to live a “strange public fantasy life” lol. The guy is trying to build a career as a pop singer. We can debate about how talented he is or isn’t, and what level of success he will rise to, but for the moment he’s finding at least moderate success. He has fans, he’s playing gigs, he’s been on tv, he’s doing magazine shoots, and he’s moved from a small town in rural Canada to LA. None of that is imaginary. Him interacting positively with fans is not a delusion or a fantasy. Projecting one’s own hangups about modern celebrity culture on to one 20 year old who generally seems to be a pretty good natured guy, is the actual fantasy here.
