I read in an interview with Alex, a few years ago, that he would feel totally comfortable doing full nudity if he believed in the project--too bad no filmmakers have taken him up on that.

This isn't a "Hollywood" production. It's a. Co-production by Norway's NRK and Canada's Crave TV. NRK is entirely accepting of nudity to the point commercials will have nudity and educational shows for younger audiences don't shy away.. Crave TV isn't quite as liberal all hours of the day but has plenty of nudity and suggestive/vulgar language (just check the Letterkenny thread)... Both companies would laugh at the idea of someone wanting a prosthetic - let alone one that looks entirely average.

sometimes yeah I agree but why would they be a fake dick when he wasnt doing something dangerous?? like the other guy said those cheeks are his though. They do fake dicks if the actor is doing something that may damage the goods so to speak. he was just spinning around, Not all frontal are fake Micheal welch wasnt fake

I shouldn't have said Hollywood, I should have said entertainment producers. However, the company has to follow union contracts that might require it. Or the actor could want to feel comfortable. It just depends. I want it to be real, but it doesn't matter if the company is "okay" with it. There are other factors that come into play.

There is more that goes into the decision to wear a prosthetic or not. It doesn't matter if it's safe or not. A union contract could block it, the actor might not be comfortable being exposed like that, or if it's to recreate a certain time period. You have to remember that even though film is art and nudity might be art; films and television sets are still work environments and some people don't want to be nude in front of a coworker. There are many factors. Sabastian Stan wore one when he played Tommy Lee because his doesn't look like Tommy's. Taylor Zakar-Perez wore one to walk through a locker room, something safe, but he wore one. Do I want this to be real? Hell yes. But until it's confirmed, I know how these things work so we won't be sure until then.
