I also know that creators like Alfie have a team of people who get paid before the creator sees a cent of what their accounts earn. Most of them are signed to “management companies” who take big shares of their earnings in exchange for promotion, scouting, bookings, communications, etc. Alfie doesn’t even run his own accounts as you can plainly see in the messages his accounts send. Then there’s taxes that have to be paid every year if not every few months. At the end of the day, a huge performer might take home $100K, which is the salary of a mid-level city employee in most major US cities. Again, it’s a living for sure but they’re nothing close to rich. This is a lot of smoke and mirrors.
