I can see him getting nominated but a win is probably out of the question(Hollywood is not keen on recognizing young male actors with Oscar gold) . Also the overall panning of the movie could hurt his chances a la House of Gucci

Baz Luhrman is a mess. He's the too much of too muchery. The King, Queen, Empress, and High Galactic Princess of Over the Top Unnecessary Maximalism.

As what Elvis looks like to Lurhrman, Butler is really creepy, plastic, and puppet-y.

This dude just went from Shanara Chronicles or whatever that horrible show was to an Academy Award nomination possibility. That is a bona fide career trajectory. He's beautiful, young and talented. He can be a major star.

Both Bohemian Rhapsody and Rocketman made money, so it seems music bopics are in. And elvis songs are so popular, so it might just be a hit.
Elvis is way less relevant than Queen and Elton John are today. Also dramas and musicals aren't doing too well in theaters right now. Look at West Side Story or house of gucci. The musical biopic thing is played out at this point.
Still obviously a huge opportunity for him and I hope his success trajectory continues to rise
