I’ve read the book twice now and there isn’t a scene involving the beach, so this must be the director’s own vision. There is nudity quite literally on the first page though! Austin’s character is showering and has to take a piss, so steps out of the shower to do so. Then he pads through his apartment naked to grab a beer, which he drinks in the shower. I wonder if this will translate to screen!

I really hope this beach is nude too, or at the very least tight wet undies

These photos were posted on the instagram page of what looks like a nature tour/ retreat in Tulum. Besides Austin and Aronofsky, I don't know who the other people are -- probably other guests/ employees for the retreat or possibly other people who worked on the movie. Austin and Aronofsky just finished filming a movie in Tulum, I'm not sure if going to the treat was related to the production or if they just took a mini vacation together afterwards.

Yes! In the novel, his character shaves his head and dyes it bleach blonde to avoid capture by police. It’s originally shaggy and brown.
