Hi all!

I wanted to ask for your advice here, given that I am just back to dating for a serious relationship and I have problems with this guy pulling away.

I am a bit tired of hooking up and situationships leading no where. I have done some inner work in preparation for a serious relationship. I went on this app Hinge to try to look for serious dates. I met this very cute guy that is also super compatible with me.

We liked each other but the problem is that he is pulling away.

We had a wonderful 1st date. We spent the day together, had the chance to talk about expectations for a relationship, then we went skating and had dinner together. we kissed and stuff.

He texted me right after the first date saying how much he had enjoyed it and saying he wanted to meet me again.

I was away 3 weeks for the holiday. During this time, he kept in touch via texts, and was very proactive telling me about his holidays.

I asked him out once back and said he was busy that weekend but didn't suggest another time.

I didn't force it because I wanted to give him the chance to be proactive.

It's been almost two weeks of him not reaching out and two weekends of not making plans to meet.

A part of me says that in this early stage, I don't have the power to confront him and think that if he was still interested, he would reach out and ask me out.

If he doesn't, I better get over him and move on. Am I right doing this or should I give him one last nudge?

Thank you all. One does lose practice after so many years of just messing around.

Cheers.

If you expect nothing than a no or excuses wouldn't surprise you. So why not give it a last attempt? Instead ask him when he is free and if he would like to go out again. If nothing comes out of it, you are no worse than you are now and you have your answer.

I think the first thing done wrong is sitting down talking to each other about ..” what expect “ in a relationship..

A relationship isn’t about what you two expect to happen.. it’s about finding g out about each other see if compatible.. main thing probably talk about is if top/bottom.. bare or protected.. few simple things like that then build up on that..

More than likely you two talked and something you said about what expect.. didn’t go well with him .. so ask him if said something wrong.. and tell him you’d like to get to know him.. .. see where that goes.. if he doesn’t seem to want to proceed further then.. then definitely cut him loose ..life is too short to be hung up on one guy that’s not showing any interest in going further

So you suggested a couple of days for a get together and they responded that they can't make it and never provided an alternative, so you simply tell them....

I suggest <date> <time> <location> for our next get together. If you can't make it let me know what works for you.

Now you should get a couple of responses....

1. Yes
2. No....if they don't respond with an alternative. Then it's time for you to walk away.
