BBQ Meats Linked With Prostate Cancer

It's my avatar creature. Think of an insect that no one knows WTF it's doing, it comes out when it's dark or wet, no one sees them breed, and when annoyed, they curl into a little ball.

I'm not partial to wood though, besides Cinnamon. Side effect of being British is a fan of good tea!

I have to thank Pecker for finding me this version of it. When I was here last year, I had a similar avatar.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A compound formed
when meat is charred at high temperatures --
as in barbecue -- encourages the growth of
prostate cancer in rats, researchers reported
on Sunday....

I find it interesting that these researchers apparently don't know the difference between a barbecue and a grill.

A grill is a device where food is cooked on a grate over a hot fire, and where the meat may indeed become charred, producing whatever harmful byproducts there may be. It is often an object of grilling to produce tasty charing or blackening.

However, barbecue is a process by which meat, repeatedly well slathered with sauce, is cooked slowly for a long time by a gentle heat. No self-respecting barbecue chef would ever alow his meat to become charred.
