We found this man sitting in front of a coffee place in Berkeley. It was about 8AM, he had a half drank 40 ounce bottle of malt liquor by his side. He freely told his story and it was compelling. He himself wondered “how the fuck my being on the street even happened, but here I am, right?”. He is neither young, nor ‘hot’. But my purpose, my calling in this is to help those who want my help, my comfort and to be the most important thing in those minutes together.
