I clocked that he probably wasn’t legit homo in every way when I started watching his vids a couple years ago. Also, he said that he’s had some “feelings” or “affections” towards women before. He didn’t use the word “attractions”. But honestly, at least 50% of gay-presenting people aren’t truly and thoroughly homo throughout their lives. This idea of people “lying” about being “gay” is mostly silly. So much of the world still brands every guy who’s into people that’s not cis women as “gay”. While as male queerdom becomes more generally accepted we see more guys who are not 100% inherently homosexual in every way being out. That’s a reflection of progress. But queers dealing with fluidity or questioning or switching up identities have always been a thing. While “gay” has always been more of an identity you either embrace or don’t. Only in recent years have people obsessed with “gay” having to mean being entirely homo in every way.
Identity politics, sociology, fluidity, preferences, lifestyle, ego, sex drive/extent of libido, the gender, sexual, affection, romantic, emotion, commitment spectrum- all these things are incredibly wide and individual and impact how people present themselves. Yet, we stay caught up in who’s “gay” or not. It’s all tired and dated. More people are just accepting and understanding how vast sexuality and the spectrum and journeys are. Believe me, there’s way less 100% “straight” and heterosexual men in the world than you think.
