Not exactly they usually reprogram the bank account and send him his cut. They do this to make sure he doesn’t just split early. So he has money tied up in them. Also they tend to change the passwords so if he leaves they can lock up the account. They didn’t get rich by not protecting themselves.

its a legal contract between 2 parties. so depending on what they agreed to re: early termination he might have to pay a fee. If someone were to just cut and run then yes they can take him to court

Also, if he doesnt want to spend the time managing the account himself... then why would he bother leaving his agency?
