do people really consider having sex for money on these sites actual work? im seeing the term "sex worker" thrown around a lot. Here's the thing. If you view having sex with someone work and you have to talk your self into doing it and pretend to like it for a camera, then you are doing SEX wrong. But, Just because you decided to hop on the bandwagon of some dudes bright idea for a video hosting site, doesn't make you an employee or put you at the top of some "working class". You became one of the thousands that became an opportunist. Not one of you had to sit through an interview, go through H.R., or read and sign an employee handbook. Most of You signed up on a whim, or a dare, or because you were broke.
These sites gave you an excuse/justification to not do the hard work of finding an actual job. You are not a part of some Team, you are not working toward any actual goals, or investing in the future. If anything, being a "sex worker" is nothing more than a glorified prostitute backed by an online Pimp and a few fine print clauses. If you want to call it "sex work" then by all means, but dont think that you deserve the same respect as those on the front lines, or the "essential workers" that get up everyday and earn their wage. When Only or Just.for decide to pull the plug one day... what you got planned? aint no pension or unemployment coming your way.... since ...you know, you are not employed!
Yes, sex work is work. Your opinions are outdated and outmoded. And yes, all work--including sex work--should get the same respect.
