I'd love to know if they started dating before Carl's coming out or after. Erik's IG friends' comments seem surprised by the relationship, so it makes me think it's pretty new. I'm sure Carl's DMs were flooded back in June, and this is the lucky bastard that got through to him.

Imo more likely that the relationship has been serious for some time which made Carl decide to come out. Since Carl is so much of a big news it’s understandable even friends of Erik didn’t know.
Whichever the case good for them! Love shouldn’t be so complicated or under scrutiny just because Carl is great at his job, but good for them on finding the courage. May love always win.

they SHOULD post on every page not to post political things... I looked at the thread when he first came out and haven't again until today- I had no idea a discussion like that was verboten... maybe we should start a thread in the 'Politics Forum' about him so people can vent. Because I posted today, I'm currently getting updates. I'll be clicking on the 'unwatch thread' tab above-, not really interested in him/repubs. If someone does start one in Politics Forum- let me know.
So the boyfriend is skinny and significantly shorter than Carl. I think that means Carl is a top <crowd cheers>. I know this dynamic isn’t always the reality but in my experience it usually is. I am def getting “first boyfriend” vibes from them and their connections seems really genuine. Hopefully Carl won’t turn into a looks obsessed, shallow celebrity like most very attractive gay men. I have a feeling the boyfriend is cuter in person. And it goes with saying that maybe the boyfriend is hung as fuck. So those are my thoughts on this.

Honestly they both look like laid-back, down-to-earth people, not the shallow types I usually expect to see celebs dating. Very happy for them both and I hope they can love openly but quietly as they seem to wish.
