To add to what I said above… I was surprised Carson is okay with it? The few people I’ve met from Utah are incredibly religious and believe that being gay is a deep deep sin that you can “pray away”.

Pretty sure Sam is straight. He mentioned kissing a girl, not willing to kiss a guy for $100. He did make a joke that if your parents caught you with a girl in your room at 2am, you could try to say “I’m gay” to avoid them from getting upset, but his statement of that wasn’t meant to be a statement about he himself.

To add to what I said above… I was surprised Carson is okay with it? The few people I’ve met from Utah are incredibly religious and believe that being gay is a deep deep sin that you can “pray away”.

This is because Carson is not Mormon, unlike the majority of Utahns. Even if he were, I also think views on LGBTQ issues among young Mormons are more liberal than among older Mormons (though even the younger ones are more conservative than society as a whole).
