Hi Everyone :)

I hope you are all doing well and are ready for the festive season.

We have made some changes to our chat offering. We've turned off what was called new chat and have decided to go with old chat platform for the time being.

We feel having everyone go to one chat area is better and we think this appears to be the chat platform our users prefer.

IMPORTANT NOTE This Change Might Be Temporary
We are testing this to see how it goes. If you have an opinion on this please share it below.

If you have any comments, questions, suggestions, or just want to say hi please post them below!

Love you all! Thanks!

Thanks for this.

The old chat (now the current chat) definitely has a better user interface. The new chat (RIP) was clunky, but I still really liked it.

What I liked was that there was one main chat. It was always fun to log on and see who was online (even if the cameras were slow to load at times). There was a nice sense of community there.

The current chat doesn't seem to have the same functionality (unless I'm missing something). It just seems to be lots of people starting different conversations, and therefore feels a little more fragmented.

I wonder if if would be possible at some point to create this space in the chat, so it's not just lots of spearate groups happening simultaneously.

Hope that makes sense!

Making a fundamental change to a site's functionality without any notice or an invitation to users for input was a misstep. And poor system administration.
I imagine there are quite a few unhappy members who feel ignored/disenfranchised and who will go elsewhere.
The current approach to managing the site is reactionary and heavy handed. I'm curious why people, including me, bother paying.

Yeah I don't get how it works lol. If I start my cam, it's like it's starting a video call and people can join the call, but I lose the chat interface so if everyone as mic off it's just like showing off with no interaction... Which is odd.

I just tried it again and that's so weird. I don't think I will cam on here again. It was fun to show off and chat with guys at the same time. I will wait for a better solution or go back to CB

Yeah same. I might chat a bit but I probably won't be camming. It's too inconsistent to even get people watching to interact with.

You will be missed. Drop your other links

I have one issue with the old (now only) chat: when I want to cam, it connects me automatically to the mic attached to my external cam, which is broken, and when I go to the settings to try and change it to the laptop mic, it automatically disconnects me from the chat. This happens always in private chat and often in group chat too. I wish there was a way to remember settings. Trying to change them in the browser doesn't work. I've tried Chrome and Edge.

I'm sorry you feel that way. I appreciate you paying and I understand your frustration.

This is not necessarily a permanent move. We want to see how this older chat does so we can compare and make an educated decision on how to move forward.

We invested heavily in the new chat and it didn't turn out the way we wanted. Our relationship with the developer fell apart and there isn't a way to improve what we have at this time. Based on numerous comments the new chat isn't good enough. It is also very expensive to run and not many users use it. Just to give you an example. 0.33% of all LPSG members use our Chat and it accounts for 10% of our hosting costs.

There are other considerations at play. Omegle chat was forced to shutdown last year. The landscape for adult sites and adult chat is changing rapidly with age verification and moderation being required. As you know the usage of the chat rooms is already really low. Adding age verification would probably turn it into a ghost town.

All that to say we will most likely be forced to make big changes to how our Video Chat works in 2025. We are exploring all options so we make the best decision. If anyone has any recommendations we are all ears.
