Cholesterol and erections

micro: Oh, thanks for the clarification. I tried the raw vegan (living foods) for awhile, but I found that I was just too hungry all the time, and constantly eating and going to the bathroom.

Presently I eat some baked goods every few days, and I eat some sort of animal food every day. Usually raw egg yolk, sometimes raw milk. About every week I get a big plate of sashimi at a japanese resturant. About 2 times a month I eat raw beef at a korean resturant. So, not exactly veggie at this point. But I am considering going back to the living foods for a few days to loose a little weight.

Yes, thank you for reminding me to smile, and not take myself too seriously. :)

Truth be known about cavemen Pecker, only the neanderthals (or neander-tals) were the only ones who only lived up to 40 yrs old, even with eating meat and all. :)

Just want to share this helpful health tip I have learned: If your erections are less than you think they should be, get to your doctor and get your cholesterol tested. If it's high, lowering it may restore you to full glory.

Let me make clear that I have always been fully "functional"--my penis was always able to get hard enough to have intercourse, and usually able to get "rock hard". But for awhile there I felt like something was lacking and my erection was not at its best 100% of the time. I assumed this was a combination of aging (not that I'm "old", but I'm not a teenager anymore) and my size requiring excess bloodflow.

Anyway, I recently went to my doctor for a routine check-up. He did a cholesterol test and my level was very high, which was surprising because my diet and exercise are better than average. The doc explained that in my case it was probably a hereditary problem that would require medication. He started me on the medicine a short time ago and I have noticed a dramatic improvement in my erections! Talk about a cool side effect.  My erection was fine before, but now it's like super--gets fully hard quicker and always gets and stays rock hard. It's like being a teenager again.

I was probably living with this cholesterol issue for several years without even knowing it.

Donk,

thanks for posting this. About a year ago I had the same problem. It was a bit different as mine stopped for a couple of days as if a light had been turned off. My erections have come back but no where like before. No morning wood and no spontaneous erections. (they were commonplace before) Have checked my testosterone (normal) but my chlorestoral is extremely high (320). Have started a no- chlorestoral diet with supplements and am feeling some improvement.

I do have reservations about Lipitor and the rest. Did you have any side effects?

Anyone else have success stories related to high chlorestoral and erection improvement?

Vegan just leaves you hungry, and it doesn't have enough amino acids. Raw's even worse, since it leaves the cellulose intact.

Glad you found this post helpful. Regarding side effects from statins, the only one I have had (other than the improved erections) is minor liver irritation, which is detectable only from the routine tests that you get when you are on these drugs and is not anything that is noticeable to me. My doctor explained that some degree of liver irritation is very common with these drugs. If it is significant, the drugs are discontinued, but--according to my doctor--if it is minor, as in my case, the belief is that the benefit of the lower cholesterol far outweighs the irritation to the liver. Before starting someone on these drugs, the doctor should do a test for preexisting liver problems and then should follow up with tests of liver function after a while on the drugs.

I stress that I AM NOT A DOCTOR (I don't even play one on TV!) and you should only get medical advice from your own doctor. I'm just relaying my personal experience here.
