Hiya! My physician told me that I need to get my cholesterol down (the sooner the better), but I'm finding that navigating 100 million recipes and a million more websites about "how to lower cholesterol" is overwhelming. I'm finding lots that seem worth trying, but I thought I'd reach out and see if anyone out there has a recipe they enjoy making. Or, if you're on a similar diet, what are some of your staples that you keep around the house?

Simple recipes are ideal, but I'll gladly check out whatever you recommend!!

Thanks in advance!! In my doctor's words, "Let's try not to have a heart attack before we turn 35, okay?" o_O

Mediterranean diets are supposed to be good for increasing HDL (high density lipoprotein, the “good cholesterol”) and lowering LDL (bad cholesterol). I’d suggest vegetables, beans, olive oil and some whole grains (particularly oatmeal and brown rice). Good luck!
