Guys having photos taken professionally and being a working male model are two different things.

Yea you're right - those models don't do that. And I can't think of many top male models who are currently on OF.
That said, I don't think being a model and being an OF performer are mutually exclusive; I have seen some models who did OF and are also modeling for shoots / campaigns / etc. They are cute, hot, good looking but they aren't raking in the big bucks like o'pry, neff etc.
Christian Hogue is really suitable for OF and he should go all out to milk his fans while he still has it!
Your point is on target. People confuse exposure with professional success. A lot of what we see professionally of Christian is old and that money (which in reality wasn't much) is gone.
Also, he's covered with tattoos and that prohibits him from getting "legit" catalog work - which is where the money is for men. Kohl's or Dillard's won't hire him for sportswear, regardless of how pretty he is.
Every male photographer and modeling casting director knows who he is so we should be seeing him all the time, but we don't, and that's because he doesn't have a "real" modeling career.
I find it surprising Steven Klein hasn't shot him nude. I guess he's not Steven's type.
I suspect he's been more revealing with his content lately because it's the only way to keep the cash flow going at the rate it has been. The guys get addicted to the money and when the cash spigot starts getting turned off they have to up the ante.
I suspect that Christian will be showing everything with abandon by fall and, since that "other" video is out there, he'll rationalize doing jerk off videos because of the money - which will be substantial at first but like everything else will start fading and then on to the next "phase".
Unless he's got a marketable skill to fall back on, he's trapped himself into having to make money off his looks, which as we all know, fade more quickly than we think they will at that age. Which, as many have pointed out on this thread, has already begun for our boy.
