Our former Chancelor, Mrs. Merkel, did visit the players of our national football team in the change room after winning the championchip 2014 ;-)

Our former Chancelor, Mrs. Merkel, did visit the players of our national football team in the change room after winning the championchip 2014 ;-)

I visited Germany and my host took me to a public/family sauna. A big complex with restaurant, huge pool outside, various resting places, a very relaxing atmosphere and everybody was in the nude. Men, women, children, elders, people with disabilities. I was speechless. In my place public nudity is not accepted. During our stay in the sauna, my friend came to me and said: "See, that man over there, our bishop". The bishop was completely naked, walking around, a white towel on his shoulder. I live in a catholic country and it would be impossible to think of a religious person walking naked like that! The country really made me feel more natural about my body but since I came back to my place, I started to neutralize that freedom, returning to a local sense, sadly.

I guess our players had not been totally nude when Mrs. Merkel entered the room ;-) But a funny story, though.

Where are you from?
Yes, German saunas (and in many other countries, too) are more open to nudity than the US or likewise countries. But can hardly imagine a bishop visiting a public sauna ...
