Some of these images, while lovely make me wonder if their design is not constrictive or solid enough. Many of them seem to allow for plenty of open space where the caged individual could still stimulate themselves/give themselves pleasure. Or possibly could end up with chafing/harm caused.

I may have not been clear. I am fine with/no issue with room for flaccid length, but prefer the chastity device to not have as many gaps/open space. Having to sit down to pee is just an amusing side effect. It's more I don't want essentially thick wire forming the cage, where one can nearly reach a finger tip inside to caress or stroke

Yes, I think I can agree with all of that. I have to admit that, although my own cage is of reliably heavy construction, it is possible to touch my member through the bars - but I feel that this gets me precisely nowhere since trying to harden within the cage is so uncomfortable, and even if rigidity were pleasurable my filthy imagination causes me to firm up very easily without such physical stimulus...
