Now the part that bothered me: it wasn’t Gabe’s behavior, although I found it distasteful… or Adam’s response, which I found in line with Gabe’s offense. It was the way the crowd responded, loudly cheering Gabe and jeering Adam’s response. Perhaps I read the moment wrong… or the crowd couldn’t really see the spanking but saw the trip, and interpreted it as unsportsmanlike behavior from Adam. (Or it might have just been his home team backing gave up.)

But it really seemed like the crowd loved the humiliation and balked at Adam’s response, which to me is the exact wrong angle.

Like I said, I was surprised by how strongly I felt about it myself. And might have over interpreted it because I really felt for Adam being public ally humiliated like that. What do you guys think? Is my read off base? Or did you read the crowd reaction differently?

The incident with Gabe, you have made me realize, would probably be classified as sexual harrasment and if Adam would indeed feel some form of humiliation (instead of the joke I thought it was), it would be indeed questionable to contribute to that online.

My intention wasn’t to flag your context. I don’t have any problem with posting it.

My goal was to just talk about the sportsman conduct.

Certainly don’t feel bad about posting it. It happened in the sports context after all.
