Sorry to say that that's not Brentford Fountain (dry side anyway)... I was there earlier today and the men's showers are cubicles.

I went back to Chelsea Sports Centre....disappointing again, hardly anyone uses the showers. I was showering for about an hour waiting and in that time only one guy showered with me

Sounds familiar. Best bet is mornings or lunchtimes when people have to go back to work after!

I don't understand why so many people travel home from the gym hot and sweaty though!

I went at lunch time, most people seem to go home to shower. There is one closed cubical at the end and one guy used that which was disappointing.

Bit of a tangent but at my work gym which has cubicles, I strip naked and walk to shower with towel (literally a few feet). My colleague would always go to showers in his boxers but lately he’s started just stripping off. Was impressed he felt comfortable and I hope it was because he saw me do it.

Communal or not, being naked in lockerroom is trendsetting haha. The shy ones will follow

I think sometimes it's easier to be totally naked with complete strangers, or people you only associate with the gym/showers. Being naked with workmates is a bit different. I used to use my office gym and noticed some guys would change under the towel and a few others would just strip off and not care who saw them. I always stripped and didn't care but then I usually worked out with another mate from the office and he did the same, so was happy to be totally naked with him, even just briefly.
