Religion, family, being in a hetero based society, insecurities, traumas, mental health struggles, perhaps dealing with things like fluidity, contradictions, paraphiliacs, uncertainty when it comes to the gender, sexual, affection, romantic, emotion, commitment spectrum- these things will definitely complicate the journey. And who knows exactly what his journey will reflect. But I like how he has handled things tactfully. He seems to have been honest about his struggles and insecurities without promoting shame. He hasn’t tried to suddenly sell sex, or a hyper-queer image, or whatever relationships. And he has been very vocal when it comes to combatting homophobia in religion and general anti-gay and anti-queer perspectives and biases. More public figures trying to suss things out and be out and open could learn from him.
I wont lie. I hope this boy is in some little swimwear soon.
I think he just needs to lean into the boy next door feel. Although, I would be curious to see him be more seductive.
