I would think that any gay man who wants to have a tv news career beyond the local level would pull an Eliza Doolittle and learn to present himself in a manner that would seem to have a wider appeal. If David Muir still sounded like that today, I don't think he'd be hosting World News on weekends.

I worked in radio (on the air) and when I first started, I had a HIGH VOICE because I was just trying to be proper and really didn't know to just relax and talk. After being on the air for years and getting older, I changed to a different station playing different music and just decided that screw it, have fun with this. My voice sounds much deeper, which is normal.

But yes, listening to it, that's definitely him.
