When you do whatever you do to stay paid in this game we call society, is it something you enjoy and feel proud of?

If so, why?

If not, why?

It's a jungle out there. Or a desert. Or an ocean..

Do ENJOY it? I’m used to it more than enjoy it. I enjoy some of the people more than the positions, I’d say. Although a paycheck that pays better and commensurate with tenure/experience would help me enjoy it more.

I'm indifferent about my job. And for my partner, her job is just a paycheck. That said we can find better things to do with our time.

I make extra income investing and my partner has a shop on etsy that makes her some income as well. To me it's better to have your own business than having a job...

I enjoy my job and am proud of it. It's usually different things popping up every now and then so there's a slight variety which keeps it interesting. Downside is paperwork, bureaucratic red tape, the usual office stuff.

Overall yeah I like my job.

Recently I switched from a job that had become mostly management, to a job that gets me back into more technical work. I was finding I was missing the technical work and the creativity that comes with it, and though I was good at managing things I was getting bored and unfulfilled.

The new job keep my brain more engaged and I feel more creative. Some cranky clients. Ironically the most interesting work I have right now is for the worst client, but life is full of trade-offs.

When I get to do what I went to college to learn to do, and have spent 40+ years perfecting my skills, then yes, I enjoy my job.

When I have to chase down people to get answers so that I can proceed with the actual work, or have to perform some tedium that's part of our process, then no, I don't enjoy my job.

If I had another lifetime I would do exactly what I have done. Driving down a road and being able to remember, see work you have done that will be there for a very long time, leaving a trail of where you have been, taking pride in a job well done, hoping out, touching a wall, instantly remember back 50 years to when you were there with your work mates like it was yesterday, is probably the best feeling.

yes, not as glorious as a movie star, billionaire, music artist...but the best feeling ever.

It has worn me out, yes, but I enjoyed every minute...well, most minutes :)
