Even though the Desperate Housewives plot line moved ahead five years this season, IMHO Doug Savant looks better than he did last year. James Denton, although still a gorgeous hunk, looks significantly older than he did in the series' first year. They're both about the same age, but I think Doug is holding up a bit better. (My POV may be somewhat jaded, however, because of my nostalgia for Doug's role of Matt Fielding on Melrose Place. He played one of the first recurring gay characters in a primetime series. And yes, I fell in love with that guy--not to mention Rob Estes and Grant Show. Hell, I even liked Heather.)

I'm amazed by how much he's changed on all levels. When he was on "Melrose Place", he was an awful actor and he was not very attractive. Ever since he debuted on "Desperate Housewives", he's been simply amazing as Tom and he looks really hot and sexy. What happened to him? Regarding his acting, I mean. Did he take some acting lessons?

I guess you might have seen last week's episode, where a core plotline was based on Susan walking in on Tom (Doug Savant) and Lynette having sex on the floor of their nursery. Tom overheard and became giddy hearing Susan's comment to Lynette about his "third tripod leg" and believe it or not, the following discussion was about how Lynette had never mentioned this to the girls before... it all "comes out" in the ensuing neighborhood meeting of course.

Still I don't think it's true, but it would be nice if it was!!

He did a film with George Clooney in the early '90s called "Red Surf" where he's boffing some chick up against a wall. I think he was pretty hot on "Melrose Place" actually. I just wish they didn't chicken out when it came to his character's relationships on the show.

I had first heard of him on Melrose Place, although I didn't follow that show. But he had caused some commotion because he (the actor) wouldn't reveal whether he was gay or not in real life. Later, it was learned that FOX had prohibited him from saying he was straight because they felt it would turn off the gay viewership.

Then, I saw Masquarade on TV, and obviously, attracted my attention. Then completely lost track of him.

On one series of 24, there was a hotel with some infectious disease/gas in it. The hotel manager looked fit and somewhat familiar. Turns out it was Doug Savant. That was the first time I had seen him as a "grown up" adult.

I don't watch Desperate Housewives, but I have seen him on it while surfing channels and he looks like he did in 24 a couple years ago.
