I never understand this argument. It is an ad hominem attack that does not even stand up against basic reasoning skills.
I will say I don't get why people are criticizing him for who he is attracted to. Frankly, at first glance, it made him more appealing. A 10 who dates 7s. Wow. Did that mean Dylan was more interested in who people were on the inside? One could hope, unrealistic as that is.
I cannot speak for others, but I first became aware of Dylan in that OutSports article. That feature basically made him out to be a gay wet dream cum true. A hot jock who writes poetry and is in a relationship with a guy who is, by most people's standards, less attractive than he his.
A 10 dating a 7. And headed to Columbia! He was the whole package.
Outsports has an agenda: to put on display and promote role models that normalize LGBT involvement in sports. They are not hard journalism. They did not delve into his or any other featured role-model cum-lately, alleged troubled past, nor his enrollment in a military academy.
Still, how many gay men read that article and thought, "He's perfect." I know I did. He was every gay fantasy I had back when I was in high school and college.
Still, he choose to be in a relationship with a social media influencer and put as much of his life and lifestyle up on display to encourage intense fandom by folks that either wanted to be him or be with him.
Celebrities, even sub-sub-celebrities who depend on fans for their income are going to be judged. It comes with the territory. He seems reckless. Just based on that alleged bare-backing with a random London hook up without being on PreP and the going 120 MPH speeding tickets...but yea, being 20 is about believing you're invincible and not thinking through consequences.
Seeing Jackson for the first time this last week, my first thought (sorry) was, "Wow, at his age, I was way better looking [than Jackson]." That fuels the fantasy, regardless of how unrealistic.
I think only later figuring out he has a pattern of dating fem twinks that others might think --judgmentally-- "Ew" because we would never date them, is an unfortunate of also predictable reaction. (Cue folks chiming in with comments about internalized homophobia and toxic masculinity.)
It is not dissimilar from hearing some woman back-in-the-day say,"You could have any woman you want. [Why are dating men?] It is such a waste!"
A bit like seeing that attractive guy that is dating a morbidly obese guy. I get it that it is a type of attraction they cannot change anymore than I can change like men who look like MEN and not BOYS, but that is just me. I like guys with a bit of sugar in the tank, but full-on fem twinks makes my dick limp.
It is not a great judgment and is probably unsavory, but responding that folks "have no right to be judgmental" is like saying folks have no "right" to be obsessed over someone who has intentionally-crafted a persona and used their personal lives for financial gain, where they depend on fans to give them thousands of dollars in a [desperate] attempt to be a appreciated and acknowledged on some level by their object of desire.
I "wasted" a lot of Saturday reading up on Dylan. It was fascinating. I learned much about the perils of being a social media influencer while getting the occasional alleged salacious tidbits.
Personalty I had not heard any updates on Dylan since that original OutSports article until late last week when this nude leak hit my radar.
There is a lot of drama there for anyone who is curious, even if someone like me might dismiss most of it as speculation. I know so little of the whole social media influencer thing and how the pressure of trying to maintain a public image during such a volatile time in ones life... Easy to want to read more about that guy who seemed too good to be true, who conjures a mix of both carnal and higher level curiosity, even over a four day weekend during a stay-at-home pandemic.
I hope the best for Dylan. I hope that this stint in the military is his attempt to reboot or re-frame his life, much as maybe his time in the military academy was intended and maybe did get him to a place where he was doing well enough to be an award-winning athletic with entry into Columbia.
I could've be cleaning out the bonus room over this long weekend, but this is way more entertaining.
And sorry, but Dylan is way more attractive and interesting to me than Pietro Boselli.
(PB is way too bulky and muscular now. My personal tastes lean more towards cheetahs than tigers.) And PB is boring. I don't wany Dylan or anyone's life to have this much chaos, but it makes for a good read.
Do we need to calm down? Here? Really? I don't know about others, but my temporary surge in interest in Mister Geick will pass soon enough. I just hope in the meantime we get a lot more of Dylan's over-18 explicit content and that he suffers zero repercussions for it being out there.
