Being in Canada I can attes to the factt that all of our senators are impotent. They cannot do a thing with the laws. There was a push up here for a triple âEâ senate. This stands for elected, equal and effective. As it stands they are appointed, not representative of each region equally and sure as hell not effective. They collect their cheques and many do not show up more than a few times each year. After reading about your senators I find myself thinking that the fathers of confederation may have been on to something when they decided that our senate would consist of a group of men who meet to discuss nothing and admit that they are ineffective. Anyhow, being Canadian and watching our senators in inaction I feel more than equipped to take the part of the impotent senator in this dialogue.
