Guys who have done a lot of gay porn but do/have done non homo porn does not equate to “famous straight porn performers”. Trans and bi porn have become fully established in “gay porn”. It’s not even “gay porn” any longer. It’s more like “queer porn”. If you do gay porn long enough you’re kinda expected to do non homo porn. Sticking with strictly homo porn is not as profitable as it used to be. Hetero/non homo pressures, gay insecurities and internalized phobias are still things even among unabashed queers. A lot of dudes in gay porn are “straight presenting” or are not “gay presenting”. A lot of guys in gay porn are unabashed about contending with fluidity, contradictions, paraphiliacs, fetishes, hyper-sensitive sexuality or uncertainty about their place in the gender, sexual, affection, emotional investment, commitment spectrum. Doing something other than homo porn will get you some attention, an ego boost, a broader audience and non homo appeal (things a lot of these guys crave). And many of these guys are unabashed about doing whatever for money.

Actually seeing “famous” straight male porn performers in non hetero porn is still rare. Once a guy establishes a substantial career and following in “mainstream” straight porn they rarely make a detour on camera, probably because of homophobia, hetero pressures, fear of no longer getting “mainstream” straight work.

I thought this thread would reflect that. But it’s mostly a bunch of unabashed queers/gay-presenting dudes/guys who have done most gay porn/guys who have never had a substainal straight porn career. The thread says “famous straight porn performers”, and that’s simply not reflected in most of the posts. Someone needs to consider altering the thread title.

The thread title is indeed misleading. He’s a “gay presenting” guy, has a longterm boyfriend, and his porn career has been made of 99.9% homo scenes. And some people in straight porn have talked about there being a lot of “queer” male on the straight side. So, it’s definitely a thing. However, because of hetero expectations, male homophobia, internalized phobias, ego, etc. very few of those guys who have legit straight porn careers are real about any of that stuff and very few are willing to do non hetero (and especially gay) porn. On the other hand, there’s a lot of social, political, ego and money incentives for dudes in gay porn to do some non homo porn or to be unabashedly non homosexual. That’s not the case in “mainstream” straight porn. So, showing a bunch of guys who have mostly done gay/queer porn or are unabashedly gay/queer presenting and calling it “famous straight porn performers” doing non hetero porn is at the very least misleading.

I don't think that anyone has really been up in arms about the particular celebrity of a performer compared to others. At the time I wrote that, the thread had become inundated with those scenes and photos that I mentioned. In ranking importance, the gay/bi/ts theme is the more important part of the content. No one was yelling about whether or not someone was more famous than someone else, but rather that the content really did not match the theme at all. If you feel like complaining that someone isn't famous enough to fit in the thread, feel free, but I would rather see new content from slightly lesser known actors than the same content redone and rehashed by the ones that are more famous.
