NO NO NO! First of all, this isn't really the place for religious convo, but if we're going to go there, let's fricking go there! The circumcision of Abraham is NOTHING like the criminal mutilation performed today. The "foreskin" only applied to the skin which hung beyond ["fore"] the glans because the rest of the skin on a newborn is ATTACHED to the glands and is NOT the "fore-skin". It was not until the Greek Olympic Games, when athletes were required to perform in the nude and exposure of the glans (head) from circumcision was considered extremely vulgar, so Hebrew athletes began the practice of skin stretching, enough to guarantee coverage of the glans. But a looney-toon group of pervert rabbis went ape-shit, stupidly believing that this was "undoing" the Covenant (in their minds the covenant was only in the flesh despite God REPEATEDLY saying it was in the heart, not the flesh), and from that point on they whack jobs ordered the total obliteration of, not just the foreskin, but also the prepuce and available loose skin in a sicko attempt to prevent stretching (which, as any circumcised guy who has practiced stretching knows is nonsense). The circumcision performed today is not that of Abraham's Covenant, it is GENITAL MUTILATION and child sexual assault for which the perpetrators should be locked in a prison. If, as an adult, a Hebrew man wants to mutilate his penis beyond FORE-skin circumcision (amputation of the overhang skin only), that's his body/his choice, but to do more beyond this to a BABY who has no say whatsoever deserve criminal punishment - and BTW, it's criminalization is currently in the works by several medical and human rights groups.
