Strange post, but for many of us Ear Wax every season is an issue. Whether it's from humidity, living in the tropics, wearing ear protection for your job. It becomes annoying.

I used to go every year to the medical practitioner to have my ears syringed. Over the years it has been handed down to those who have no bloody idea, the experience of those who do it has become shit...the stupid little devices they use, the constant squirting in your ear with trickle.

Anyway, this year I did my own. Thought of how. Remembered I had a Pump Pressure bottle in the shed I bought, but never used. It has an adjustable nozzle and trigger. Being frustrated I decided to give it a go.

What an absolute wonder. I could adjust the spray to start off with, slowly increase the jet from slight spray to jet and the trigger is pressure sensitive. The nozzle can not be inserted into the ear. Just use warm water like they do in the clinic. May help if you soften the wax first. But for me, an absolute wonder and pump to the pressure you wish.

I'll post a photo............for you Ear wax sufferers, I know you are out there. Resized_20250124_200713.jpg

Yeah well.........maybe there is a market for waxing surfboards:p. Seems Bees wax is used for everything these days. Once upon a time cheap as chips to buy blocks of bees waximagensurf-1536x1063.jpg
for surfboards.

Is this sarcasm and everybody gets it except me?
This seems like a very bad idea to me.
If you haven't the need to have your ears syringed out every 12 months or o from wearing ear protection in humid climates, or have smaller ear canals that prevent wax buildup to escape, I suppose it may seem like a bad idea. But after you sit there and have to put up with the incompetence of todays undertrained staff I decided to have a go.

Sitting there, having someone constantly squirt water into your ear with a device no better than an electric water pistol is excruciating. I've walked out twice. This is the old ear syringe, there was never an issue with those who were experienced. Compare that to the plethora of devices that are available to the public today, google it. Perhaps it's not suitable for those that lack common sense, for them anything is a danger. The idea is to adjust for gentle with warm water and work your way up...or have had the regular experience of ear syringes to know. antique-vintage-medical-w-h-bailey-son-oxford-street-london-ear-syringe-doctors-nurses-h-7316-p.jpg

I've been doing a DIY solution for 20 years now - a sauce bottle filled with warm, not hot, water

The nozzle goes perfectly in my earhole without rupturing my eardrum. No ill-effects, not yet anyway!!!
