Dear fellow gay men,

Where do you draw the line as far as friendship / romantic interest, particularly when already in monogamous relationship. I know it's possible to have a gay friend, but do you have some kind of rules to know when the friendship seems to turn into a romantic interest ?

I can see the pros of having a gay friend (talking about our "marital" relationship etc...), but also see the possible complications if the friendship develops toward something more romantic (emotionnal / physical attraction).

thoughts ?

Just depends on your own personal relationships. When i date I'm all in, But I always have my best friend. We love all the same things and are very close. When we are not dating others then we do enjoy each other's physical company. A few companions got jealous on how close we are but it's a 14 year friendship so it's a relationship that outlasted several boyfriends. We definitely have our own boundaries and it's best just to explain that clearly when creating a relationship with a new partner
