it wouldn't be the first time marvel completely changes a character to put it in the mcu. they use the comics characters and stories as inspiration for the mcu, but it's not word by word
i think because both are under disney, people might've assumed mcu hercules and live action hercules remake could end up being the same guy, therefore the same actor. it would be weird to have 2 hercules under the disney umbrella played by different actors. it'd be like the flash in the dceu being play by both grant and ezra.I thought the talk of Zane as Hercules is for the Disney live-action musical remake of the animated version?
