Honestly it probably is best not to speculate further than what we know, but just the info we do have (as cryptic and aloof as it might be):

- Rahul said that the stuff that came out about Adam wasn't the reason why he stopped talking to him
- Some other RT/AH and other people who formerly worked with/were friends with him have made some negative comments about his personality aside from the scandal
- Some of the pics involved him doing stuff at work which in it of itself was definitely grounds to be let go (that being, if someone caught him in the act and not if it had come out like this)

So just from this, it's safe to say that the reason why there is a mixture of bad feelings knowing that a friend coworker was cheating and sending explicit content of their S/O without consent + some other BTS behavior + (depending on how each one felt about the Public aspect of photos) being made uncomfortable knowing he was doing this kind of stuff in a shared space.

He used to treat me like shit for no reason back in the day, specially because I'm gay and was always talking about how the guys over at funhaus were kinda hot.

I worked closely to them as a community manager since the days at MCN and then later at RT. I have NOTHING good to say about him.

On the other hand, James was the nicest guy to be around in the world, as you can imagine. When I came out, he was very respectful and supportive, he never treated me differently because of it.
