It's bullshit how they had Ambrose Pan- gay leaning and then they paired him with a woman. That shit bothers me.

Well, being PAN by definition implies that you are attracted to people regardless of their gender, so who cares if Ambrose's with Prudence now? She's fucking hot.
What really bothered about his storyline was the minimal amount of time given to his previous relatioship with a guy and that he was killed off pretty abruptly on the second season. Also, there was a mistery arc about the dead witch boy he was investigating and his lizard familiar (first season) that was totally dropped.
These types of things bother me.

They did make it seem like it was going to be some kind of plot of play a role but by the time the hunters showed up it was almost forgotten unless you remembered the first few episodes.

That was my point, they pretend to be edgy, but really aren't. Ambrose was in love with his boyfriend and it didn't matter, they just pushed Prudence and him together. Like you said that storyline was trashed for a more heteroflexible storyline,

Look, I mean no disrespect to anyone here, and I don't want to be that guy, but welcome to all mainstream entertainment. They're interested at gesturing towards diversity and inclusion but are rarely interested in telling queer stories in any sustained manner. Accept it and enjoy the ride anyway, or don't, but don't get your hopes too high in this regard. If you want queer stories, look to queer artists.

Maybe? I dunno. Regardless, they're working within the constraints of a system that aims to maximize viewership by pleasing as my audiences as possible. Furthermore, the central character of the show is straight, so that limits things further.

Don't want to sound like I'm ragging on the show though. Despite the fact that we may want more from various characters and plots, I think it' definitely one of the most queer-friendly teen/young adult shows around right now. It's definitely doing a better job with queer characters than it's cousin Riverdale.

pretty sure the whole mystery about the witch boy with the lizard familiar was to bring ambrose and his boyfriend together. because his boyfriend(luke iirc) was involved with the witch boy.
it's incredibly annoying that same sex relationships get almost no time and straight relationships get a whole lot of screentime. and ambrose is literally that. his relationship with another guy got almost no time and the dude got killed off. his relationship with a woman was constantly being displayed, and even tho she died, she got brought back to life, although seems to have ended things with him.
and yes, the showrunner is gay, same dude behind love, simon. but he's also the same dude behind all of the superhero shows on thecw and we all know how very little representation those have
