It’s pretty well known that Chance had some really awful views on a variety of things, however to my knowledge he was never accused of DOING anything harmful or illegal. He was a young man and there was always potential for him to change and become better, but unfortunately that is no longer the case and that in itself is tragic.

I hope they recast him, I really like the show and won't miss the actor (not because of all that bullshit).

I am sure that the delay has more to do with the fact that the creative team are people who need to grieve the sudden death of their co-worker before making these big decisions than the challenges of recasting.

This is a different "they", and recasting a role because an actor is dumb versus recasting when an actor died are completely different things. And any casting never takes place that short, we just learn sruff a while after they're officialized

Nah, Elsass quit the show by not showing up to quarantine before filming. He was expected back until the last minute, and the public learned of it only hours after the cast and procuders. The fast turnaround on the recast was legitimatley fast. (If the producers had their way, they likely would have concealed it the extra week until they could annouce the recast.)

What you say about the different reasons is is of course accurate right. Different kinds of cast departures require different responses. But that is what I was talking about in saying the producers/creatives need time to mourn before making these decisions. So in that area we agree.

...What more needs to be proven? Lots of people saw his likes and follows, and then he scrubbed them clean. It's not exactly a matter for courts to decide. He had some shitty views. Doesn't mean he deserved to die, and it's a tragedy that he's gone.

I don’t need anything to be proven to me. I just find it off people are celebrating his death on other threads. Regardless of his views he doesn’t deserve death. Can’t be all that bad as a lot of his Co stars speak very highly of him.

Aside from maybe that one guy, I don't think many people here are celebrating his death. I'm certainly not. My previous comment echoes the things you just said. I think we can acknowledge he had some notable faults while still being sad that he died so young.

If you're talking about twitter or whatever, that's always a shitshow and there's always gonna be people with the absolute worst take on anything that happens. Nothing we can do about that unfortunately.

This is true. I am not shocked by Twitter anymore at all. That’s always been a hot ass mess.
