There is a vast difference between a "date" and a "hook-up."
I think the reason why I have all of these white men correcting me on my own personal experiences is because they know that they are part of the problem. The LGBTQ+ community is a very racist and colorist community. He’s not correcting you on your experience as a person of color. He isn’t correcting you at all actually. He’s stating a fact that grinder is used for hook ups and not dating. There are people who end up dating off of it, but more times than not it started with a hookup. I have tried using it to make friends to no avail. I stopped dating and having sex 20 years ago, so I don’t want hookups. I have personally found that even those on there “looking for chat/friends” can’t be bothered when you actually try to chat and only chat if it doesn’t end in sex. I’m sorry for your experiences with racism on there, but unfortunately as far as it seems we’ve come, we still have so much further to go.

This part is true. One of the reasons I feel like dating apps are discriminatory in general is because you can sort by: height, race, weight, ect. In a prefect world I realize that a preference is a preference for most people but I feel like grindr should focus more on those harmful words used to isolate those "fats. fems. blacks" instead of cracking down on people promoting their onlyfans.
