Harris dickinson

I am always surprised when actors get tats like these. If permanent, they must limit the parts they can do. I suppose they rely on body makeup or cgi to remove them if necessary, but it is a lot of extra effort and it might make the difference between getting the part and not getting it.

It's pretty easy to hide tattoos or scars with makeup these days, especially for professionals.

I personally am not a tattoo person. But I'm also aware that I'm increasingly in the minority. They're ubiquitous. Even all the old grannies and granddads at my local pool have them. As for Harris', again, except for the birthdates on one side of his chest of his and his siblings, his collection on the surface seem rather stupid. But I'm sure they must have some meaning to him. It was refreshing to see a beautiful body in a film like Beach Rats that didn't have tattoos (he had one, some squares on his ankle) but that's gone now. He just got another one -- a bird (peace dove, maybe?) on his right shoulder. And he's taken to doing amateur ones himself - the ones on his fingers. I remember John Boyega doing a long IG story on his own extensive tattoos being covered up by makeup in an early call. It takes a bit of time. It's definitely effected some films Harris has been in. Both Harris and John Taylor Smith have tattoos, so in Where the Crawdads Sing, the production (trying to save money), for the most part, just put them in long sleeves and long pants despite what was probably sweltering heat while Daisy Edgar-Jones, acting opposite them, was wearing short-shorts and tiny t-shirts. I wonder if the tattoos will be covered up for Iron Claw - Jeremy Allen White also has them but I don't believe any of the Von Erichs had tattoos back in 1984.

I am not against tats per se but I agree with you that his are not particularly attractive. An actor's body is his instrument and I just think it should remain a blank canvas. But you won't get a sympathetic hearing on here from the pro-tats lobby.

Exact

Exactly. An actor like Harris, who likes to submerge himself into a role, I would have thought wouldn't want anything to take anybody out themselves while watching. The stomach tattoo was relative new when he did Triangle of Sadness so when I watched it I was like "well, yeah, models often have tattoos." But when I see it in the next shirtless film, I'm definitely going to be "oh, Harris. Right." I guess if I prefer them, I'd want them small and discrete and well made. That said, the guy is hot, still. He's lost a little of that dewey beauty he had in Beach Rats and Postcards but those films were 8 and 7 years ago! Dude is a man now. He also grew two inches in height, so I'll take that.

As far as taking gay roles in the future - I don't know. I think he likes working on interesting stories with top (mostly Indie) directors/writers so if a queer project comes around that catches his fancy, I can see him doing it. I think going to the Oscars earlier this year with Triangle really cemented his desire to be in quality films be they studio or Indies. So far he has no official job on the horizon. He was rumored to be doing Babygirl as an intern who has an affair with his boss, Nicole Kidman, with Jude Law as her husband. Directed by Halina Reijn, who did last year's “Bodies, Bodies, Bodies.” Although at 27, Harris seems past the "intern" stage, the plot does seem ripe for nudes or semi-nudity. It was supposed to film late summer. The director followed him on IG and Nicole was in London around the time of the talks, but then the strike happened. (BTW, I did see Femme and it's wonderful but there's no nudity in it. The air is thick with sexual tension, though. And a wee bit of simulated something-something. But I think with the full-length version released this year, we probably won't see the short in circulation anytime soon)

Can we talk about their fashion choices? TF is going on there?
Artsy East Londoners. So used to dressing on the cheap. Proudly wear their swag given to him by thirsty designers. Also, he's the type of beautiful man who gets away with putting on the first thing within a foot of his bed.
Yup, Harris has been dating Rose since he was 16, in love with her since he was 12. Power dynamics have changed. When they were 12, he was the chubby goofy boy and she was the pretty girl. She friend-zoned him until he lost the weight and glowed up at 16.

And now she's the... nevermind.
Ha! I like to think of her as that nice girl who still dukes us a couple of pics of Harris every once and awhile despite having a private account now. Harris seems to allow Rose to be a quasi press secretary. He barely uses his social media account now but Rose will do the obligatory tagging of hotels and designers to pay back for freebees or invites to fashion shows, Oscar afterparties etc...
