I'm sorry is there an income cut-off for advocating socialism? Only poor people can want socialism? Even if what you say is true that he's making $15k/month (I doubt it), he's still making less than $200k a year which wouldn't make him a millionaire let alone a billionaire and hardly counts as him having excess wealth when living in a place like Los Angeles or New York.

It's not being a hypocrite to operate within the rules and framework of the society. Many conservatives oppose entitlement spending and want their taxes reduced but take advantage of the entitlements for themselves and their families. They'd argue that if they're forced to pay for the programs, they should be able to use them even though they'd rather cut the programs and not pay for them in taxes.

Warren Buffett argues that the wealthy are under taxed, but he pays only the taxes he owes under law. He advocates increased taxes and would pay them if they were raised.

Bernie Sanders argues against tax breaks for the wealthy, including tax deductions to pay for mortgages on multiple homes. He has three homes and takes tax deductions on all three. He's still a socialist.

Even in America public approval for public healthcare, infrastructure projects and higher taxes on the rich has approval ratings in the 50s, Boris Johnson was elected with a massive mandate last year promising massive investments in infrastructure, education, healthcare, welfare reforms that while conservative compared to Corbyn are literally a variation of Socialist policy. The existence of the NHS is socialist. The only people who truly disagree with socialist policies by definiotion are libertarians and free market liberals. You can disagree with socialist policies but please UNDERSTAND WHAT SOCIALISM is first.

Most of the countries that we'd consider "socialist" or "capitalist" are a mix of both, including the U.S. The differences are of degree not character/kind. France and Germany, for example, have much more extensive and generous government administered benefits than the U.S., and higher taxes to fund those benefits. They tend to have slower growth in good times than the U.S., but less dramatic downturns in bad times. A purely capitalist economy would not have public transport, housing, Medicare, VA hospitals and benefits, public roads and bridges, etc. Instead, we'd rely on private companies to invest in building out the infrastructure then charge us at a profit to use their infrastructure.
